Got some basic questions on my new TT. New to this, so please be gentle:

1. There is a raspy noise from the exhaust when setting off. I've heard 911s do that before, but is it normal for turbos?

2. Oil pressure is below half way at idle then quickly comes up to almost max under moderate load. Normal?

3. OPC or independents for servicing? The car is 4.5 yrs old and 19,000 miles. I expect to keep it at least 3 years, at which time it will probably have done something like 50,000, so I'm thinking at that stage FPSH history won't matter too much to resale value. Is that right?

Any views appreciated.

Thanks.

Oil Pressure sounds normal, exhaust noise sounds great,

OPC or independant, depends on the independant.

I have used both, the problems i have encountered with OPC's is there attention to detail, not finishing the jobs they started and its very hard to talk to someone who knows what you are talking about.
Good OPC's i have come across are Swindon, Nottingham.

There are some independants out there that actually, with me anyway, i view greater than OPC for service history as well as workmanship,

I guess it depends where you are

1. I've heard the noise on other cars but don't hear it from the inside of my car so maybe its just something you hear when you're stood outside as one goes past?

2. Fine

3. There will still be some buyers out there that will require a full OPC history even though many independants are better. I reckon if you did a comparison of money saved with an independant vs discount on re-sale you would break even so its down to personal preference.
