Partial refund. What are my rights?

Sounds a bit sharp of the inspector to keep £30 for what sounds like nothing...

I'd make it clear to him you're not happy and then if necessary 'retaliate' by making prospective customers aware of how he operates via the usual social media channels

Rather than give it up at the first hurdle (although I must admit I probably would ) ask what costs/time were incurred for the £30 charge.

But also ask for a copy of the terms of business, privacy notice and Gdpr documentation plus a subject data access request to include evidence of any phone calls recorded and any agreement terms entered in to. it will probably make them realise that giving you £30 will be a lot easier.

FFS....! The DRAMA title " PARTIAL REFUND. WHAT ARE RIGHTS " Your talking £30..! You've booked and paid for a £150 service and then YOU'VE the cancelled it... I'd be happy to get £120 back... and then to be told to go to social media and expose this company...? CRAZY..!

That was my first reaction, but it's always worth a go.

The law is on your side but how will you enforce it. You used a bank transfer so no Chargeback protection. You would have to make a money claim online to get your cash.

It's £30. You engaged the services of someone and then cancelled. I'd just be delighted I was getting the vast majority back and not losing more.
