I know this is a difficult topic but thought I'd see what others have found. My 1997 Chimaera fuse board relay layout seems to match the Auto Genius (92-03) layout and the S. Heath one for 1997/98 - no heated seats or aircon. But the ratings of the installed fuses differ in several cases so I'm wondering whether that's ' typical TVR circuit variation' or whether the fuses have been muddled over the years. I've not swapped out fuses and don't really want to get into load testing so hoping there maybe some common ground with other owners. Ideally I'd like to avoid cases where the fuse rating is much higher than it should be and so it undermines the intended protection. Fuse 16 is a particular case in point where I've got 25A but if the guides are relevant this should be 10A (instruments & boot release). Also Fuse 5 in the guides is blank but I've got a 30A sitting there. Thanks.

Pull fuse 16 and see if boot opens?

5 being used as a spare fuse holder?

Yes, I'll do some obvious 'fuse out' tests to check how the circuits line up and then follow the guide for the ratings. Have installed Glo fuses so should be quick to spot failures. Just thought I'd tidy it up as I've got the interior stripped out.

16 does more than you think.
Extract from my diagrams but no guarantees if the fuse values are right as I have not load tested them. (you are welcome to a copy of the diagrams)

Fuse Function
1 25A Dip Beam Headlights.
2 20A ECU + MAF + Injectors + Fault Data Connector.
3 25A Horn + Cooling Fans.
4 15A Cigar Lighter.
5
6 15A Hazard Flashers + Door Locks & Door Open.
7 15A Interior Lights + A/C (If fitted).
8 10A Reverse Lights + Door Lock warning LED (Mounted in Lock knob)
9 10A Cooling Fan Relay(s).
10 15A Lights Control Module + Clock.
11 30A Windows.
12 15A Ignition Coil + ECU + Fuel Pump Relay + Alarm/immobiliser.
13 15A Fuel Pump + Lambda Sensors + Purge Valve + Alarm/immobiliser.
14 15A Heater Blower.
15 20A Indicators + Windscreen Wipers.
16 10A Instruments + Speed Module + Warning Lamps + Brake Fluid Level/ Handbrake + Boot Latch + Mirrors + Heater Blower (Later cars).
17 20A Headlight Flash + Windscreen Wipers.
18 20A Brake Lights + Windscreen Wipers.
19 10A Horn + Cooling Fans.

Thanks Steve_D. Can't see the age of the Chimaera for your fuse list but I've also found a 1998 Chimaera layout and a fairly consistent picture in emerging. Yes, seems F16 covers quite a lot and I guess would be increased from the 10A listed if the Heater Blower is included (in later cars - whatever that means) instead of being in F14. Looks like F5 is most likely unused so I may just have a spare 30A in mine. Once I get the interior back together I will pull some fuses and do some basic checks. Fortunately I didn't have any faults before starting the strip down other than the interior light which looks very likely to be a failed relay plus F7 was pulled. Hopefully I won't have to get too immersed in circuit checking as I'm not an auto electrician but I'm a qualified domestic electrician plus do some hobby electronics, so worse case should be able to muddle through with a lot of patience and a big mug of tea!

My car is a 97 and was the basis for the wiring diagrams I have drawn.
As I said before you (and anyone else) are welcome to a copy. They include all the bits the Steve Heath/TVR digrams don't show.

Excellent; thanks Steve. I'm sure I'll take you up on your offer idc when I've got most of the interior reassembled and can run some power.
