I know this has been done in the past but tech changes all the time…
I have a iPhone 8 which I’ve just dropped for the 3rd time. I use it mainly when I’m mountain biking - to share location, track my rides and take the occasional photo.
I need to replace it but I don’t want to spend huge amounts of money, and I don’t want anything too large as need to be able to fit it in a pocket. I have no qualms about going second hand.
What is there around the £200 price point? I’m currently SIM only with GiffGaff.

Depends which aspect of “tough” you are really interested in. My iPhone 12 did a cottons wash for 90 minutes - I just assumed my uninsured 2 week old phone was toast, but no, it works perfectly.
Drop toughness is IMO all about the case. They all break if you drop them uncased. The Apple silicone cases seem to be a good compromise of bulk and protection, my old iPhone 6 survived 6 years of my clumsy ownership in such a case.

You need a mous phone case.
I am building trade and my phone regularly gets dropped out of vans and out of my pocket.
Under the case which is slim and lightweight the phone is as new. Excellent things.
That looks like just what I need - stupidly didn’t think of more hardcore cases but makes sense. Thanks, will look into those I am building trade and my phone regularly gets dropped out of vans and out of my pocket.

Yes, suspect my old case wasn’t up to the job, and need a screen protector too. I just want something I don’t want to worry too much about. Some of the current iPhone prices are breathtaking- and not in a good way!Drop toughness is IMO all about the case. They all break if you drop them uncased.
