Stroller for Toddler - Fully Collapsible for Air Travel

Hi All,

We are due to make a long international trip with our 3 year old son in the near future. Could anybody recommend a stroller which can be fully collapsed and be taken inside the plane to be stored in the cabin?

We had a quinny zapp a million years ago - that was small enough to fit in the boot of a cooper S. I think it is probably still the smallest around- I recall we had an issue with getting it on the plane so in the end bought a Maclaren (not a 650s) that seemed to survive the ground crew handling and being thrown in the hold.

does it have to go in the cabin.
We travelled a lot long haul with my youngest in a stroller and as we boarded the crew took the stroller and it was at the door when we disembarked.we had a super light weight one but it was only for short time use.

We have a Babyzen Yoyo and it’s brilliant. It also comes with an optional buggy board that our 3 year old loves being on when he gets tired

Not sure if it’ll go into overhead storage, but it folds very small so wouldn’t be surprised

If it's long haul with a change/re-fuel you may want the option of strolling around the transit lounge. On a recent flight, with an infant, I noticed another family with a buggy that seemed to fold neatly and fit in the lockers. We were happy for ours to go in the hold.

Some overseas airports have buggies available for passengers to get from their arrival gates to the baggage hall where prams etc have been put in the hold.

We bought a GB Pockit I think it's called a few years ago, folds into the size of a small handbag and fits easily into the overhead storage.
It was great on holiday as it's so light and has a strap to carry it like a bag and was no problem in taxis, restaurants etc due to not being bulky.
We took the baby in it all the way to the plane door and had a lot of compliments from other parents who had to check their prams in and carry their kids the last bit.

I think it was about £99 but it seems to have shot up in price now.

For the Zero street cred you get a basic Cuggl Laurel Stroller work nicely for £30. If it get lost or run over for £30 who cars. It been a while but the £300 efforts I purchased at the time all pretty but bulky and useless

Have a look at the Ergobaby Metro+, it's a brilliant stroller much like the Babyzen Yoyo but half the price.
They're available from John Lewis plus other retailers.

Had ours for other 3 years and it’s been constantly used both for short haul and long haul travel and never had a problem. Never been refused to take it on board..


You can also get a whole bunch of accessories for it too. Easy to use , carry and store ..
