Jacket brand recommendations
Discussion
I'm after a coat/jacket.
I want a techy, full of pockets sort of aesthetic. Vents, lots of adjustability and alot of functionality/practicality that make it look all ready to scale a mountain get extra points
So far the only ones I've come across that fit the bill and around my budget are helly hansen and didricksons. I dont want to spend more than £300 ideally, fire away

Alpkit if you're not fussed about a "big" brand name?
Last weekend of their sale as well:

Thanks for the replies everyone just had a quick look at all recommendations and Iike a few bits from the quick search I've just had but will be having a good search later. I'm determined to get something ordered this weekend
Also I wish it was as easy as going to go outdoors
You would be better going to a few shops and trying jackets on. What are you going to use the jacket for?

& muppet007Not for scaling mountains or anything technical
it really is just for a winter jacket but I like aesthetics of what I've mentioned and snowboarding jackets actually but dont really want to go that route

OP no idea where you are, but Jack Wolfskin have an outlet in Clarks Village in Street, Somerset.
I found a versatile medium weight shower proof fleece that wouldn't look out of place on a mountain or at rugby ground.
It has a few pockets, zippable vents & a lightweight hood built in to the collar (haven't looked at it, because for the wettest weather I use something more substantial)
I think I got change out of £100, RRP iirc was north of £200.
Check out the Clarks Village website - they have other brands such as The North Face selling end of range kit too.

I have a few fjallraven coats/anoraks. They are superb but take some looking after. Don’t listen to anyone who says its 100% waterproof like gortex. Even when waxed. It isn’t.
My favourite is my smock No 1. It has many many pockets. The sizing is massive. I’m a medium in everything. My No1 is and x-small.

It really depends what you are going to do in it, Fjallraven is excellent quality, warm and fashionable but would not want to be caught in a bad downpour on a cold day in a Scottish glen.
Paramo is excellent technical stuff, will stand up to almost anything, but the styling comes straight out of a 1980s Michael Jackson video.
Fashion Vs performance
