Whilst we are all shocked and distracted by the horrific events in London - what have the government been sneaking 'in the back door'?
Anyone noticed that fuel prices seem alarmingly high again?
Anyone else been shocked by the hike in London congestion charge? I dont drive up that often so £5 up to £8 within 3 months seemed a little steep to me!!!
What other little nasties have the sneaky barstewards been passing through whilst we are realing from the shocks.

Yes - but - two of the more controversial provisions have a 10 year time limit...

Do you know what struck me last night by its notable absense over the past couple of months (since the election, basically)?
Any form of political debate.
To me, that seems exceeding dangerous. Without the tempering action of discussion raising public awareness and opinion, how can we know / ensure that our government's actions remain in check?
Instead, all there seems to be is a combination of silence and agreement from the "opposition" parties.
I'm deeply concerned. If the tories and the lib dems are trying to get the debate started and the media is chooseing to ignore them, then I'd be even more concered, but sadly I have no way of knowing.

Thats kind of what what I was getting at, what exactly is happening in the background whilst we're all pre-occupied!? Whatever it is I have a curious feeling its going to end up costing me more money...
As we are so concerned about oil prices, what we need to is take control of supply to we can control the price to our advantage. We need to invade all the oil-producing countries and then we can cut out the Arabs and restore some balance.
And maybe nationalise the industry so the city boys don't keep getting jumpy. Every time they twitch, it costs us.
