Control Freaks
Driving is the last thing on your mind...
Discussion
I do not belive that any car manufacturer has as yet included in their sales contract a clause that says that the vehicle must be in motion in order to use some of the systems Mr. Farago was talking about in his article. I like a lot of people have a navigation system and if while I or my passenger are entering information and I feel that it would be safer to do this while the vehicle is stationary then I do.

"On the face of it, some of these gizmos are a good thing. Sat nav, for example, keeps you focused on the road ahead and eliminates major marital discord. But to program a new destination, you have to twist a small knob, to select letters, to spell a street or name. Then you scroll through a list and choose the right town or county. Scroll again to decide the route type and preferred display. By the time you've finished, you're either halfway there or parked nose-first into a tree."
