I'm really liking Lando at the moment. He seems very down to earth but at the same time is very switched on, wears his heart on his sleeve, nice lad. He's almost human for a F1 driver!!!

A F1 McLaren of a year or so ago had a wheelbase 4 feet (122cm for the youngsters) longer than the M7s of 1970. A lot of this will be due to the sensible central placement of the fuel tanks these days.

That's as maybe, but the M7A's wheelbase was 96".
The UK Government may have decided to support Metrication in 1965 but it only started to creep into use just over 4 dozen years ago.
