Just found out that I`m off to the GP. Everyone at work says that Interlagos is a khazi, but is there anything worth looking for in Sao paulo? and I dont mean Ladyboys!

Says it all. Slum-city and dangerous with it.
Stay safe. See www.fco.gov.uk for travel info by country

Well, towman, not much help here...

Looks like you're going to have to feel your way around, play it by ear, keep your eye on the ball and your back to the wall.....

And watch out for mad dogs.....

Have a great time.....

Well, I`m here! The circuit is great, but the surrounding area is a slum - you can rent a hotel room for £2 per hour. Why would anyone want a hotel room for an hour? Saw lots of old fellas taking their neices in there to give them some well earned rest!

Would have to visit Senna's final resting place if I'd gone that far.

You're a lucky bugger - I've heard the atmosphere at the GP is fantastic.

I used to live in Rio and visited Sao Paulo many times. The circuit is like just about any other sports facility in Brazil.... On the verge of falling down

We went through Sao Pualo on the way to or from Rio. The city is huge, took hours to get through. I wouldn't have fancied getting out.

The city is ginormous - use Taxis, and don't travel on your own. It can be a dangerous place.

Go to a restaraunt called 'La Jardinaire' (excuse spelling). Its utterly fantastic, no menu just lots of waiters pushing trollies around between the tables, you have a little red/green thing on the end of your table, red they ignore you, green they bring food. Really good idea.

The meat is second to none. Last time I was there (2001) J Villneuve was eating there as well.
