Resigned company director - Late filing of accounts
Discussion
I set up a LTD company with someone around 4 years ago but things between us did not work out.
There were no financial transactions (sales or payments etc) carried out even though we had an active bank account etc.
A BBL was taken out in this company name (this was one of the reasons we fell out as I was not in agreement!) but paid off in full before the 12 months and the bank account was closed. Note - The full amount of BBL funds were not used and remained in the company for 12 months paid off and account closed. I then resigned.
He told me he wants to keep the company name so I resigned and let him stay on as a Director. He is now not submitting the accounts and I keep getting email reminders from the virtual office (who scan and send me the HMRC letters by email). I send these to him but he ignores me. I now see there is an active notice to strike off this company by the HMRC due to non filing of accounts.
I want to know if this has any negative impact on me even though I am no longer a director of this company?
Are there any consequences of being struck off for non filing of accounts for ex-directors or is it only the active directors that get a "black mark"?
