This is sad.

I wonder why it’s a Cat B and can’t be put back on the road.

Water/flood damage, according to the listing. Be a good crop of mechanical parts, but all the electrics will be suspect, so probably better off being binned (though they wont be, and some poor sod will have a niggly component off eBay)

I saw this. I just paid a similar amount for new GT2 parts only! Am I missing something can this not be used as a donor car for a project? Wonderful opportunity to buy an old non sunroof 997.2 C4/C4S with no engine and upgrade to hot rod with genuine RS parts. What a project if I wasn't in the middle of one I'd be very tempted as the end result is a 997 Touring for the Gods smile

That would be a cool idea, although it’s way beyond my skill set.

Also if it’s contaminated water surely the soft materials that would have absorbed could be cleansed, refurbished, replaced.

The structure and all mechanical bits should be ok with some refurbishment.

Is a Cat B ever open for challenge?

Would love to do this! What do we reckon it'll go for? With a genuine .2 RS being the best part of £200k, I can see this going for silly money!

I spoke to a couple of people who have forgotten more about these than i will ever know and they advised go nowhere nr it. I'm very surprised looks like a useable GT3 to me. Just fix up leave at the track but easier said than done according to experts.
