Bit of advice required please, 5 weeks ago purchased a 17 reg FBMWSH X drive 520d sport, done about 2k miles in it since purchase, over the last few hundred miles it's started to almost stall at town speeds as if the fuel is coughing it's way into the engine rather than being delivered, drove it on the M1 the other day and same thing accelerating from 40 to 70 then nothing else for a few hrs until I was town speed again nearing home. Had it looked at and no faults showing on the machine used, it's back to the dealer next week for a more rigorous testing, anyone else experienced similar?

Yep this happened to my 18 plate shortly before it went into limp mode killing all power…. It was a boost sensor replaced in the day in my case.

When It happened though whole dash lit up like Xmas tree with drive train failure flagged on the screen.

Thank you the only thing on my dashboard that changed was the rev counter moved, no other warning lights.

Had similar on my 520d x drive

Random loss pf power /misfiring most noticeable at low speed or when accelerating after coasting on the motorway
No warning lights / messages

Booked it in at the dealers
Diagnosed as faulty EGR valve and also the radiator "flaps" that should open and close had failed and required replacing
Both are common faults
Total bill was just over £1000 but i had the BMW extended warranty who covered all but my excess without quibble

Update, had it looked at again by the supplying dealer, who in turn gave it to a trained BMW fault technician who put the car on some kind of diagnostic machine that NASA would probably use! Reprogrammed everything including the sat nav that went into fault mode, so far no sign of the original fault fingers crossed.
