Battery charging question

I have one of the CC Chargers which has been trouble free for the last 6 years.
Recently when i plug the Vanquish in as usual it goes on standby then you select car and away it goes, then after a while it goes back to standby with the spanner light on. Car is starting and performing fine.
Something is amiss though and not sure if its battery or charger, any ideas?
