There was an economics article on Reuters in the week and in the piece they stated that Skoda were shutting down production in their factories from 18th October until the end of the year, apparently this is going to have some serious knock-on effects on the Czech economy. It also stated that there were currently 10s of thousands of incomplete cars parked up and there is no space for any more. Its a bit annoying for me as I've been waiting for the delivery of a Karoq for months which keeps getting delayed.

So not a Reuters story then as stated?

This one says that they're focussing on existing customer orders, so you may be ok?

I read somewhere the other day that Skoda UK has already sold all its 2022 allocation,

A friend of mine was in our local dealer last week and they were telling him 30 weeks for a new Kodiaq.
Optimistic I think.

When I went in to ask about an Enyaq I was told between 22 and 36 weeks.

Yeah, I know. Couldn't find the original article but that was a similar one but since then someone has posted the Reuters one on Briskoda. It's been going on for so long now was thinking that I might cancel and keep the Hyundai, I'm sure there are lots of people who would want the Skoda when it finally arrives.

I think this is probably what I'd do.

Could easily be a new model year, different spec to the one you ordered.
