Dear President,
Whilst it is very sad that a citizen of your country was shot by the Metropolitian Police when he decided to run rather than follow the order of a armed police officer.
I feel we should draw attention to the following British Police officers shoot suspected terrorist whilst in your county your police officers shoot homesless children on the streets of your cities.

Amazingly, Brazil gets a lot of funding from the EU.
Don't they have MAPS in Brussels?

Easy to be wise after the event. The danger from what you say is that next time, when a policeman has the chance to kill a suicide bomber and save British lives, he will hesitate and the bomber will hit the button.

You can't bring personal emotions into the equation. Some of the people campaigning for lower speed limits have lost family and friends in car accidents, but that doesn't make them right, merely emotionally involved. And if you make an emotional decision, it is usually wrong.

It wasn't as if he was a tourist who didn't know or understand what was being said to him, after all he had lived here for 3 years, working as an electrician in London as well.
With everything that had happened (bombs going off) which he would have know all about since he lived here, he should have known he shouldn't have run like he did from the police. His family say he didn't have a past that would make him run from the police, ok so why run then?
In these time of hightened security it just seems like a really stupid thing to do.

I'm sorry, but these terrorists did not just wake up one day deciding to blow themselves and innocents up in London. It's not some out-of-the-blue act of violence. The fact that UK soldiers are part of the war machine currently blowing innocent Iraqis up has something to do with it. Now, before you scream that I am a heretic and should be killed, I am in no way at all advocating the barbaric killing of people (whether Iraqis in Baghdad or Brits in London), but understand that there is a root cause to the issue, and that needs to be where all questions should be directed. I blame Blair and his cronies (as well as Bush & Co, naturally) for this mess.
That the terrorists' actions are utterly reprehensible is unquestionable, in case you missed that part from the previous paragraph.

Perhaps a copy to the Pope would be good suggesting that the blood of these children will remain on his hands until the religious dogma with respect to contraception is abandonned as the true manifestation of natural birth control is too much for the civilised world to endure.

1: Jean Charles de Menezes leaves a house under surveillance and arrives at Stockwell station
2: Witnesses say he vaults the automatic ticket barriers and heads for the platforms
3: He then ran down an escalator after being approached by up to 20 plain-clothed police officers and tried to board a train
4: He apparently refuses to obey police instructions and after running onto a northbound Northern line train, he is shot dead
Not knowing what was said by the police (which could be the main point of the investigation). I would have thought though that either "Police, Stop" or "Armed Police, Stop" or something else may have been shouted. He didn't.

They use guns like that because they offer sufficient accuracy and control over the typical distances involved in incidents. Pistols don't offer anything like the accuracy (or stopping power) and would actually be more of a hazard to bystanders.
I spend quite a lot of time in Israel with work and they operate a similar policy - if someone is willing to kill themselves there is no practical way to stop them apart from shooting them. It is regretable that an inocent person was killed but would we still be saying the same thing if he was a bomber?

My point was has anyone pointed a loaded gun at you? no one has done it to me thank god if someone did what would you do? the police have proven they will shoot inocent people, IMO they have proven they dont have the ability to carry weapons
I'm pretty sure that I wouldn't choose to run if I had a gun pointed at me. Unless I had a shady past it wouldn't occur to me that someone pointing a gun at me in a crowded place would be be anyone other than the police.

The important question is. - DId he no they were police... ie they were not in uniform, did they at any point identify themselves as police before they started chasing him???
ie if 3 blokes start chasing you what do you do?
Then one pulls a gun, what do you do?
