How strong is football netting ?

Sorry for the the strange question.

I’m wanting to use football netting as an inverted cargo net between two roof supports / truces in my garage as additional storage capacity for lightweight but bulky items. Total weight would be around 25kg spread over an area of 1.75M x 2.75M.

I know it’s a stupid question, but I just wanted to check that the football netting isn’t likely to sag or become unraveled supporting this weight?

Aslong as it's secured tightly it'll be more than strong enough, the holes in goal netting are pretty large though so hopefully you're not storing anything narrow enough to fall through it

Debris netting is pretty strong and doesn't have the holes in.

I can confirm how strong football netting is, ran full tilt into it many years ago trying to prevent a goal, ripped my skins to bits.

It didn't bunch an inch, one of my forearms went through one of the holes and the friction burns were horrendous, I was in agony. Didn't save the goal either. F*cking PE lessons.

That should be fine.
I can confirm that a football net, if secured adequately at both sides, can comfortably support the weight of 90kg worth of sleeping idiot suspended across two low rise buildings.

Lad at school climbed up net while messing around during a match in PE.

Got badly tangled up and lost a testicle.

1976, so we were about 12 or so. Darren Sykes was his name. Ambulance to school the full works.

I would say it depends on what you buy.
Proper net designed for adult football, yes very strong.
Ebay grade intended for kids in the back garden, won’t support very much.

I ended up buying some construction site safety netting for £22, 2mx3m, which seemed more suited to the task at hand.
