Have you ever used a child seat in Vantage passenger seat ?

I have a child seat, which can be fixed in position using a seat belt.
Perhaps they do not fit between the seat bolsters though. Don't want any leather scratches.

To protect the leather you could use a seat cover? I bought a very nice pair in black that hook around the headrest. They have a slightly rubberised underside so they grip the seat and dont slide about. They get used mainly for post rugby practice dirty children (and me) but were always in use when child seats were needed. Cant find the original details but this looks to be almost identical:

Yeah... fitted easily (this was 4 years ago... then I outgrew it, BOOM! BOOM!). I'm sure there are loads of shapes and sizes, but I simply put a towel on the seat first, as the underside of the seats are hard plastic. Not a problem at all!

You just end up with higher pitched noises from next to you when you press on

I remember passing a police car in traffic and junior waving frantically at them from his seat. They must have thought he was goading them on...

Agreed as above, get a seat protector and you should be ok. Move the seat all the way back, and as low as possible. Be aware that buttons will be in reach of the little one though (and be careful that they don't turn off the parking sensors before you start reversing!).

I'm assuming here that it's a forward facing seat that you're using - you can't use a rear facing one unless you can disable the airbag.

I feel it's important to add here that if you have a child under 12 in the front seat of any car you should always disable the airbags for that seat for their safety. This is definitely possible in the old shape V8 Vantage.
