Otter switch replacement in Leicester?

Hi all, my fan temperature switching has gone from normal to intermittent to nothing at all in the short space of a week or so. Think I've narrowed it down to the otter switch.
Question is, if I get hold of the replacements myself (eg. Leven cool running kit) is there somewhere or someone in or around Leicester city centre that could fit this stuff while I wait(ish). I don't think TMS could sort this for a couple of weeks.
Any suggestions appreciated,

The otter switch is very straight forward to fit. You could do it yourself very easily.

Presumably means getting under the car? How easy is it to change the thermostat as well?

The otter switch should be visible from above, it's a fitting screwed into either a water pipe or swirl tank with two wires connected to it. It's easy to replace, just unscrew the old one and screw in the new one. To minimise water loss when you do this, do it with the engine cold, take the pressure cap off, squash and hold the top hose, refit the pressure cap, let go the top hose then swap the otter switch.

Indeed. It really isn't that much more difficult than changing a lightbulb.

Very easy to replace, but if you are at all worried about it (or lack the tools - you need suitable spanner, IIRC), give me a shout.

I'm not far from Leicester (Ashby de la Zouch), so I could easily pop over one evening to help you out.

the thermostat is a little bit trickier, but still accessible from the top of the engine.

If you get the Leven cooling kit, it includes new otter switch, thermostat and gasket.

Dunno what other people's thoughts are, but I also modified the thermostat on mine before installing it, by drilling a few small 'bypass' holes, to lessen the thermal shock of it opening suddenly.

Did the same when I fitted my leven kit (last summer), put a small hole in the stat, seems to be running fine now.

Use an adjustable "otter" fit it to the oulet hose and cure everything in one go.
