Hi All, my new M5 has arrived at the dealers, it has Pirelli Tyres on it which I have never had on any of my "M" cars, they are these new PZ4, anyone got anything good to say about them?.
I will change them out if I don't like them. Thanks.

Everybody will come on and slate them, but the latest Pzero (last 2-3 years) is a great tyre once warmed through (prior version was poor).
I’ve ran them on my 812SF all summer and to be they offer more outright grip in the dry than the MPSport 4S (which have just gone on).
They do drop off in performance when tyre temperature under 20°. If you run winters then I wouldn’t bother switching; however not great when very cold (but then again from my experience, neither are the Michelin’s).
Give them a chance before binning them imo.

Pictures ASAP pleasesmilesmile

They're woeful, so order some MPS4S ASAP & get those P-Zero's in the bin.

Adding in some honest feedback, my Ultimate arrived with P-Zero's & initially I thought they were absolutely fine until I visited a track & straight away the lack of appropriate temp cycling & sidewall stiffness manifested itself so I went hunting MPS4S. Now if you're never going to visit a track &/or are not a frequent early morning hooligan, then perhaps just stick with the P Zeros until time to change, but do NOT replace with the samesmile

Straight off I noticed the Michelins are ALOT quieter on the road & grip levels on the road & track are another level.

Thanks for the heads up, if they are noisey there going, I will not being tracking or driving like a Hooligan so they may do for the running-in faze.
Will post Pictures once I detail the car over this weekend.

congratulations an exciting weekend ahead with a new car. Look forward to some pictures too.

I'm not a fan of Pirelli's either but accept that mine were probably not the latest version but I did notice a big improvement by less traction control light flashing on the dash when I swapped to Michelin on the M6 a few years ago. I notice a lot of powerful driver cars (Porsche) still come with P Zero's as standard so someone must like them?

If you're not pushing them too hard it would be a shame not to get some wear out of them and with your XDrive traction should be better anywaydriving

Picked up my brand new LCI Ultimate as well from the same dealership as you (thanks again for the introduction!) and was surprised to see that it has PS4S tyres fitted from the factory - I get the impression that they may just be fitting whichever tyres the factory keeps in stock, but I opted for the 810M wheels, hence am not sure whether that has bearing on it.

The demo LCI car which I test drove had the PZeros and I must confess that I found them more noisy than the Michelins on my pre-LCI (both PS4S and Cup2) so I was partly dreading the new car also turning up with them. I would agree with the sentiments already expressed that it's worth trying the Pirellis first, before making any decisions. I bought a spare set of 863M wheels for winter use and they will have PZero Winters fitted as Michelins winters are not available in the required sizes.

Didn't realise they had an 'option' wheel as defo didn't see one on the spec sheet.

Will be easier to clean than mine, that's for suresmilesmile

Does look stunning that blue & had i spec'd a car rather than buying a built one, would have been my go-to colour.

I went from P-Zero's to Michelin's in my F90 and it was a big mistake, TC light was never off after I changed. Couldn't believe the difference.

MPS4S or MPSS?

If MPS4S, were they the BMW OEM with the * as these have a very different compound to regular MPS4S. The BMW variant has virtually the same compound as the Cup 2's (nice & soft when warm), but with the wet weather performance of the regular MPS4S, so absolutely the best of both worlds.
