We must all have them, rusty bolts on top of the engine cover. Anyone replaced them with stainless?
Is it a garage job? I would be worried about removing them and affecting the integrity of the gasket. I presume the new ones would need to be torqued up as well.

They are easy enough to undo by yourself - most are just the rocker cover and the HT lead/plug cover. I did investigate replacing mine but never found a supplier. The bolts are quite long and I think there are 2 lengths - take one out and you'll see what I mean.

Thanx, I will just take one out and show to our fastening rep who supplies our engineering company with various nuts and bolts
