That' a shame. I've only flown with them once but have a soft spot for them because of their sponsorship of the Fiat and Lancia Stratos rally cars in the 70s. My vote for the coolest livery ever (marginally better than Martini stripes).

Only ever flew with them once and will appreciate it for ever more - they got me back from the US on a crew seat when BA went on strike.

I was always told you can tell it's Alitalia not by the livery but by the hair under the wing roots.

For my new shed I've just purchased a metal sign with the Alitalia colours rather like the front hood on a Stratos rally car. My fave rally car ever.

In recent years the Aprila RS1000 came in the colour scheme it looked epic. Shame but as with many business life moves on. To be honest I find race car schemes today quite dull I rather liked the racing fag packets of yester year but times move on.

It reads like ATI are just replacing Alitalia though, wonder what there corporate colours are
