Hi all

I’ve recently picked up a 17 foot bow rider and am slowly going through it cleaning and tidying it up.

I’ve removed the seat plinths and am trying to remove 20 years of salt water staining. I’ve used autosol metal cleaner and the results are below.

Anyone got any other ideas for getting them any cleaner/shinier? I suspect this is possibly as good as it gets, and there is SOOOO much more I need to do on the boat - just wondered if there was an easy fix?

Thanks

Maybe find somebody with a suitable lathe and skim the surface off? Or spray them with a suitable paint.

Some decent fine cutting compound and a machine polisher (buffing wheel) will get them back as good as new. You do not need to get them cnc machined or any similar nonsense.

There’s an incredible product called Super Stainless for the SS parts of your boat. PAint it on abs wash off after about an hour - absolutely brand new.

Thanks all for the replies. Will check back in with results once I’ve tried the suggestions. Gonna try Super Stainless first!
