Please do me a quick favour?

Take a pic of the number plate light units, or at least confirm to me they are a pair and what they are fitted to, Mk3 Fiesta/Astra/Transit/Punto/Corsa, etc.

They are matching pair of Hella lights - not sure what else uses them. ( excuse the dust - not had the weather to drive the car for a coupe of weeks or so! )

Thanks for that. Thinking I might go for LED off the bay.

Pretty sure they're Ford looking at yours.

Edit, I lied. VW T5 by the looks of things...

When I had to replace mine I think they were BMW 7 series. If Racetech sell them then save yourself time and money hunting. We need to keep the TVR parts suppliers in business

Not sure of this fad for bright white LED number plate lights, seems a German thing, with some new Audis blatantly 'showing a white light to the rear' which was always an endorsable offence... so has anything changed?
LED marker lights, stop lights, and indicators, yes by all means, but the dimmer the number plate illumination the better, in my book. 5w tungsten is ample wink

Not disputing that.

But they're so cheap it's ridiculous. £8.50 a pair. Might dim them down a bit with some soot! hehe

Agreed, the standard 5w filament lamp gives a subtle and evenly spread cast of light. The aftermarket LEDs give a harsh white cone of light that bleaches out the number plate within the cone and provide no light on the plate outside of the cone. ANPR and other scameras predominantly target the front plate so any argument that they hinder camera detection is moot

Nothing to do with ANPR or anything like that. I was just looking at alternatives. If Racetech do them, then that will be okay. Especially if they're as cheap as you say.

That’s not the correct part. The screw hole spacing is different, and the connectors aren’t proper full-size spade connectors.

It's ok. I'm leaving well alone. I've fitted some period correct plates and they'd look wrong lit up like Blackpool Tower.
