There may be lots of specific employer agenda items at play here, so quite difficult to advise from outside your organisation.

Couple of things:

There’s usually a consultation period where you’d get a chance to ask all of these questions; is that being offered?

You’ve got a line manager who should also be supporting their direct reports; have you had discussions with yours?

And a stark reminder to many; do take responsibility for your own job description. Review it annually or if anything substantial changes before then.

Good luck!

My employer has told me that my position is now redundant ....
it is good you have accepted it's your 'Position' that has been made redundant. Most view it as "I have been made redundant"

Are you in an industry where getting a job with a different firm will be difficult?

I saw redundancy as a blessing, get paid to leave and get a pay rise with the new employer.

Do you want the job that you think you should have been mapped to? If so, then you could consider appealing against the redundancy on the basis of the mapping *AND* apply for the new role - it might focus the mind a bit when they come to deciding who to offer the role to. OF course, it could also mean that they label you a troublemaker. Always hard to know without understanding the details.

Apologies, I've decided to delete my posts.

I'm not sure this is quite the right place to get the advice I need.
