Mini R50 loud exhaust and popping/gurgling sounds

I noticed two days ago that my Mini's exhaust became louder and once I let off the accelerator it makes popping/gurgling sounds, almost like a sports car.

When I was driving it to work this morning, it suddenly became obnoxiously loud, as if something in the exhaust came loose.

I was thinking this might be the muffler, but I don't see how that could cause the popping/gurgling.

Can't hear the clip but I'd strongly expect there's a hole in the exhaust or part of the exhaust is loose or rusted to bits.

Sounds like you've got a big hole or even the centre/rear is disconnected.
