I do thinks its a good little cheap car.
Zetec engine is definately waaaay better then the encore engine but all of them are very chuckable and just stick to the road! Brilliant on corners!

It does exactly what it says on the tin. a-b, or some more enthusiastic driving. granted not the quickest of cars, but then again, neither was the 205 gti, or any other small hatchy thing. I can't see why popel buy brand new peredua (sp?) when you can buy a perfectly good fiesta?

I think the Fiesta is a decent little car, the one to choose in its class without a doubt.

At face value, I think Fiestas are excellent.

They're enough fun to drive, they do what you want them to do and they're indestructable too!

Or at least my mates was... Did get a bit smokey from time to time though.

Any of the petrol 106's for me. I had a 1.1 courtesy car from the garage once and have driven a few of the other including the Rallye and GTI which are superb. The 1.1 wasn't very quick but was a whole lot of fun.

The Fiesta is better in other areas but dynamically not on par with a petrol 106 IMHO.

The 106 diesel though is pig slow

I had one of the first 1.25 Zetec Festers back in 1997 or thereabouts.

It was a great little car.

Remarkable engine. Loved revs, really smooth, quite powerful for its capacity. Handling was good, too.

The quality of the seats and carpets was a bit shoddy and it was hardly a looker, but it was cheap and fun to drive.

As a disposable daily snotter it was near faultless.

Looks are the one key thing that let the Fiesta down, even the new boring Focus still looks better.

I the new Focus' profile. It's rear window makes such an uncomfortable looking roofline.

And on the subject of Ford, what has happened with the Mondeo evolution? There are absolutely no visual differences from what I can tell from the advert. Has it been tuned or something?

Totally agree with above. We're on our second Fiesta 1.25 and it's fine.
