After having had a lot of different sports bikes,I'm getting lead down the merry path to custom bikes by a good friend who has one.

I'm thinking along the lines of a xvs1600 or a vtx1800,any of you guys have or had a big cruiser after sports bikes,I know its a hard transition ( growing a beard and buying a waistcoat etc ),but how was the actual riding difference,I imagine a custom bike to be more pleasurable..

Any thoughts on this ?

Cheers

They are the very item if you happen to want to go out looking for Filo Bedow

You should have asked, I'd happily do the googling just to find a picture

Seriously they've always seemed a little pointless to me. Too slow and bad handling to be a sportsbike, too slow and uncomfortable to be a tourer

If I had to get one it would be a <1974 Harley (when they actually made them in Milwaukee)

If you don't mind, what's the attraction ??

I went down the R1200GS route personally because I wanted an all-year commuting bike too.

The problem with cruisers is that they don't seem suitable for all season use - but I may be wrong.

An awful lot of chrome to clean...
