Oculus quest 2, buy now or wait until after 28th?

Daughter wants a quest 2 for christmas, trying to buy everything in early to avoid stock problems, but there is a developers confrence on the 28th, should I wait until then in case they announce anything then.
How likely is it they have a price drop or release a new model at the event on the 28th?

When they upgraded the standard model to 128gigs storage (from 64gigs) there weren't a huge amount of the older ones left out there - I didn't see any deals anyway.

As it stands, the 128gig Quest 2 is a cracking deal. If they do announce a new one it might be even better and priced similarly but will you be able to get one? Personally, I would just get the existing one now, if making sure you have it for Christmas is your priority. It's a great piece of kit and unlikely to disappoint. I bought the 64gig version upon release and it's been one of the best gadgets I ever bought.
