Saw the body cam footage yesterday.
It reminded me of my mum when she was dealing with my father's dementia.
The way she talked suggested she'd suffered a lot of mental abuse.

Men aren't safe, the police need to do something to make men feel safer.
On a more serious note, if she's a victim of serious domestic violence then she hasn't done herself any favours by saying what's she said. She could have gone down the self defence route saying she had suffered domestic violence for years and when he smashed his way through the glass doors armed with a poker, he coming to kill her. That could have reduced it to manslaughter and if the judge felt the public weren't at risk from her, she could get a much letter sentence

one wonders what would have happened if the victim hadn't been able to call the emergency services , she clearly stabs him a further two times whilst hes on the phone to the responder ?
she certainly wouldn't have contacted them , so it would have been a dead body on the floor with her having more time to think up a better explanation
Inelegant perhaps but there's an underlying serious point - this is what appears to be an exceptionally cold and callous killing however I'd wager that when she is sentenced many will perceive that she got off lightly due to certain 'mitigating circumstances'. As you say however time will tell.
He was laying in bed when she attacked him, her story was that she walked in with the knife intending to take her own life in front of him (after an argument about bubble and squeak side dish) but he said something like "just get on with it" and she stabbed him. He went downstairs to clean up the wound and berated her about not being able to do even that properly and she finished the job!
Another interesting thing is that he was her 4th husband, and she his 3rd wife, and their marriage was the result of an affair. Her previous husband took his own life after discovering the affair.

Remember there are no excuse to hit a woman but plenty to kill a man - probably said by a feminist
Which feminist said that then? I bet you are great fun at social gatherings.

But, apparently not, which poses a significant problem for her lawyer, who’s primary role is to create the best defence proposal possible.
