Hi All

I need some more help with what formula I need for a certain task.

It's very simple, but unfortunately so am I.

In summary, how do I get excel to give a sum of a column, not the sum of the individual values of each cell, but a total of the collum where any cell with data in it counts as '1'.

For example, in the picture below, column 1 has 6 entries (7,11,9,7,7,7) but I want the sum to show the total as 6 because there are 6 entries.
Column 2 would be 5 total, column 3 would be 3 total etc.

=COUNT(A1:A50) where the bit in the brackets is the range of cells you're interested in

No need - Excel has its own built-in training modules

When yu start Excel, click "New" and you'll see the following screen - click the "Getting started with formulas" and have fun.

You can get the result without a formula too. Highlight any range and you will see the count and sum as the bottom of the screen.
