Doing my own head in so open to thoughts

I'm celebrating my 40th in 18 months and my current lease ends soon. I work from home, the wife has the family car, we have two kids and a dog. I want something special, prefer new for hassle free driving and like mod cons etc. I've ordered a 911 992 c2 but god knows when I will get it and I am tempted to cancel and get something else. My 330i is easy quick enough for the roads but I am tempted by something special . On the list I am considering is, alfa Giulia (quad or veloce ),m3 or 340i, 550i, Q8 or X5 / X3 .

A real mix of cars. Part of me thinks to just be sensible but luxury while part of me wants something special. There is also a slight status feel where I want it to make me feel special. I think if I went porsche I would buy with the intention to keep longer term, while I would probably just find the cheapest way to get in an alfa or M car,as I doubt I'd keep them>3 years.

What are others experiences. I am sure plenty have gone through similar decisions even if the cars up for debate were different. Obviously, the way the car Market is at the minute and the soon to be end of the ICE and its amazing noise pushes me towards performance versions.

From what I have been reading about delayed orders I don't think if you cancelled you'd get any of the other options much, if any, quicker.

If you want special for your 40th I stick with the Porsche, although with a family the Alfa or M3 might be much more practical and still pretty special - even if not as much as a 911!

Good luck whatever you decide. thumbup

If you want something special go for a 911 but I'd go for a 991 GT3 you'll be able to land a nice one for the cost of a new 992 C2, depreciation will be slower too.

Another option would be a C8 Corvette, they're a special car.

The older car makes sense except for my general dear of it going along and financially running me.

Well you can allay that fear by adding a Porsche Warranty on to the GT3 smile

The depreciation on the C2 would more than cover the cost of this vs running a GT3 for a few years.

Nothing about the 992 that suggests it is, or is likely to depreciate at all for at least the next 24 months.
