Hello

I'm looking for a car that's fun to drive at slow speeds on short journeys, that is on roads that are less than 30mph.

I have another car that is great for longer drives where I can really stretch its legs but looking for something enjoyable at lower speeds to go with it.

Recommendations appreciated!

Doesn't need to be economical or practical

Budget up to £8k but ideally around £2k

Look into Kei cars. Tiny engine, loads of feedback, and if you get a turbo a nice set of noises too.

If you're never going above 30mph then a new Citroen Ami.

Theyre coming to the UK early next year.

Drive flat out absolutely everywhere, it'll be rattly but tiny and I imagine acceleration is OK, turns on a sixpence etc. Throw it at any space and it'll go in, go for tiny gaps etc. And it'll cost f all to run.

Hyundai Getz. Have a 1.1 CDR (luxury model...ahem...) and it's unbeatable on narrow roads, gets through gaps a motorbike can and is dog easy to park.

You could get one and still have over a grand in your pocket with a 2 grand budget.

You need something with an interior that makes getting in feel like an event, also something with a great sounding engine.

Citroen 2CV £3500 https://www.carandclassic.co.uk/car/C1394040

Renault Twizy £9k https://www.autotrader.co.uk/car-details/202109287...
(Can be cheaper, but with a £45 pcm battery lease)

I'd also recommend cycling on a short trip, the exercise makes you feel good and you get the satisfaction of gliding past queuing traffic.
