I plan on relocating the battery to the boot on my car.

I will also be replacing all of the carpets at the same time.

Does anyone do a carpet kit that allows for the increased length of passenger footwell?

What have others done in the footwell after relocating the battery?

I found that the original carpet mat was long enough that just wedging in the kickplate carpeted part back further looked fine. You still need bit of a gap behind there anyway for ecu and relays, unless you're going to move the fuse board to behind the seat too.

I answered your question on Facebook but I chose to move the fusebox down into its place, I couldn’t put my Ecu there as I went aftermarket and the cables in the custom loom I had made wouldn’t quite reach without modification.

You may find you want to keep a panel down in the footwell as it is uncomfortable (and unnerving) for passengers to not have a footrest.
When buying a carpet set from DC trim just tell them the length you want for the floor mat.

Saves the ball ache of moving it behind the seat etc, a wooden board stuck to the floor here gives you something to fix the ecu and fuses too easily if you wanted.

I simply got D&C Trim to make me a longer carpet mat - cost about £30-40 IIRC.

I also changed to an Odyssey Extreme battery at the same time, located it on top of the fuel tank, and had the main cables renewed at the same time.
The live one was routed straight to the starter, electrons then flowing from there the other way down the cable to the fuse box.

Picture of battery installation - I can take some more if you want better ones.

I still think this is the best solution.

Another shout for D&C trim, they did exactly the same for me. They need to know the carpet, trim and trim stitching colours. In my case 'dark blue and magnolia' was sufficient information for them to supply an excellent match. As Qbee says, £30 - £40 should cover it. (No pun intended!)

I think you just need two footwell mats the same length, but opposite way around, IYSWIM.
But best to check by putting your driver's side one into the passenger side upside down as a fitting test before quoting me on that

Hi,

I have relocated my battery to the boot but would prefer to put it behind the passenger seat. May I ask you which battery you have, do you have any problems, etc?

How do you trickle charge it please?

Cheers
Richard

The battery is an Odyssey PC1200 Extreme 500 Cold Cracking Amps
I have an Anderson socket and power isolation key under the passenger dash, i use an Accumate. But I have used a SNAP-ON Power pack through the Anderson when the battery was low/flat.
No problems after 10 years or so (1 replacement battery) . A small amount of fibreglass had to be removed and refabricated in the corners and make them square.
