Hella 90mm head / fog lamp unit removal

Hi, has anyone removed a complete 90mm hella high beam driving / fog light unit? (It’s a Tamora btw)

I’m wondering whether it’s necessary to pull the 3 adjuster rods from the ball end captive fittings to do so?

Yes - that's exactly what is involved in removing the light fitting.
However, with age, the plastic 'sockets' harden and loose their flexibility, and with limited access, it's a sod to spring them off the metal ball on the mounting ring.....Very often, the metal ring unsticks from the GRP during the removal process.

You might have some luck if you spray some WD-40 onto the adjusters and 'work' these clock and anti-clockwise to break the stiction on the ball - and then carefully push the old lamp out from the front. Good luck!
