I was looking for replacement boot struts (mine only just hold the boot lid open and if you let it go from more than 6" up it slams down with tremendous force).

I came across https://astonmartinbits.com/ which seems quite a goldmine. Is it a well-known place?

Well known and sell new and used bits. Not the cheapest by a mile, but often have stuff others can’t provide.

Boot struts are best bought from Aston. They aren’t expensive, but mention you just want ordinary post rather than next day, which is expensive. The extremely helpful Sam Smith at HWM parts is my go to when ordering new Aston parts. He’s a VW enthusiast, so get him on the subject of solitude and you might get the AMOC owners club discount.

FWIW, I bought a cheap pair off ebay 12 months ago. Apart from lacking the AM logo, they look and perform just fine.

Just bought a pair a few days ago from strut depot, I think. £26.00 or thereabouts for the pair. Fitted them yesterday, perfect. Will dig the details out tomorrow.

The prices are indeed a bit hot - I thought they might be an offshoot of AM selling spare parts under a different brand.

When you say 'from Aston' do you mean from a dealer or from the factory?

Splitty - luckily I saw an episode of Wheeler Dealers so I know a Splitty is some frightful hippy surfer dude van! Not qualified to go further though...

Thanks I found a pair that were allegedly right but they looked far too skinny. The proper ones are chunky blighters.

HWM are probably the most respected AM dealer in the country and be very careful what you say about splits - my V8V shares a garage and they can be easily offended !

The replacements were identical to the originals except they were black rather than silver.

Ordered quite a few parts from them over the years. I beleive they get lots of new parts direct rom factory. In my experience they discount is ever so slight over getting from a dealer. That being said I've never had any issues with them at all

Thanks all - I now have enough info to make the right decision
