Typical, I went out in the car yesterday in light rain so put the intermittant wipe on. No problem. As the rain increased I set it on low wiper speed, again no problem. After parking up I returned to car. Neither intermittant or normal speed wipers working !!. I tried the fast setting which worked and enabled me to get home.
Sitting in the car I twiddled with the dial and on both lower setting I could hear an electronic click coming it seemed from somewhere around the drivers footwell, a relay I suppose.
Half an hour later I went back to the car to check before emailing my dealer, and now all settings working fine again.
Could this be just the electrical system not re-setting properly? Or do you think this could be a dodgy relay which could need replacing?
Any thoughts.

Thanks
Di

That'll be because you used them in the rain!

Could it have been rain getting into the car electrics? I drove to Winchester in mine, in heavy rain, today, and quite a lot of water found its way in. Fortunately for me, 'though, everything behaved impeccably. However, all sorts of electrical misbehaviour used to happen in my Griff in heavy rain.

Cheers,
Richard

Drove back from Hunstanton on moderate/heavy rain yesterday, no problems with the wipers though. Did however get water dripping down over the little ashtrays on the doors....wondered why they put them there, now I know. Easier to put your fag out if its wet!!!(if you smoke that is!!)

Try to get some 'Rainex'. It comes in a yellow plastic bottle (Halford etc will do it) and put it on your screen. When it rains, the water beads off, and if you are travelling fast enough, you do not need to use your wipers anyway!

Indeed T Y P I C A L, I strangely only notice it WHEN IT RAINS .... and YEP,then - for some bloody obvious reason - I do need the cars wipers to clear the outside and something else to dry the ashtrays; grrrrrr ...

After 10 minutes, I notice a buzzy-sound in moderate or heavy rain, which is located near "the pod" and it sounds like some electrical misbehaviour although no fatal.
The water is vaporised quickly by the engines heat, clearing the electric disturbance the moment the rain stops.
By the way, until now I didn’t use the wipers speed regulator. I will upset my cobra

Typical hm hm
