There's a "unicorn" Triumph TR8 auction closing today on the US site, Bring A Trailer. A true time-warp low mileage (1,400) example. I know...the question is what do you do with it? Me, I'd drive it very lightly from time to time and simply enjoy trying to keep it as fresh as possible. It's a perfect example as a benchmark as to how they were, regardless of all the TR7/8 reputation.

In contrast this one just sold at a UK auction for 28,000 GBP.

It's only got 73 miles and was a Triumph "method build" car so sort of pre-production. But it needs EVERYTHING.

It will be interesting to see what the US car goes for. What would you prefer? The project and all the agony and cost in restoring it, and probably loosing most of its originality or a near perfect survivor?

A member of the original owning family bought it back then which sounds like a good result for the continued condition of the car.
