I was asked by my sister in law if I would look into some sort of super car track experience for my nephew.

Like most 16 year olds he has never driven anything other than at Southport Fair Go Carts where to be honest He was a bit er Feeble, so it's more supercar passenger rides than Rally School. He's not into roller coaster rides (her words) so clearly anything really scarey will be a bonus !!

Anyone any ideas?

Red letter days ( www.redletterdays.co.uk ) do a lot of stuff, and I have just had a look on their website - they do a high speed passenger ride round Silverstone, Goodwood or Rockingham in a few different cars for £49 (have a look at www.redletterdays.co.uk/experiences/experience_details.asp?ExpRef=XMRIP&Subsection=Demon%20Drivers ). Minimum age is 16, but under 18's have to be accompanied by an adult.

Hope this helps!

Session length
Your ride will last for a few high speed laps, between two and six depending on the venue, lasting for a few minutes.

Other information
Vehicles include the Audi TT Coupe, Ford Focus Zetec, MGTF Sports or the 220 bhp V6 Mondeo ST220, depending on the location.

Interesting. Cheers for that It's a start.

Any better ideas ?

If it's just passenger rides and he's interested, you could do worse than to see if a few regular track day goers would take him out for a few PAX laps.

Take him to Bruntingthorpe on 14th August and he can go out for high speed passenger rides in all sorts of motoring exotica, it'll cost you (£5 per go last year) with all money going to charity.

There's a website at www.on-your-marks.me.uk/ but it's rather unreliable.

Red letter days are about to go tits-up according to today's Torygraph. You'd do better to contact the circuits themselves

Thats a different event entirely to the one GreenV8S is talking about. This day is run by Amanda, and is based around the Travis Perkins Driver of the Year awards day. All the money raised goes to chairty too, so an even bigger reason to go . Details can be found here - www.pistonheads.com/gassing/topic.asp?f=18&h=&t=149579
