My 991.1 C2 2015, manual, 26000 miles, just serviced a month ago at OPC, first trip out today & its started cutting out at low revs when sat in traffic??
Also PSM failure message comes up.??
Drives OK once underway, all engine stats normal, I'll contact OPC Monday.
Has anyway experienced this? I'm worried its something serious?

Is it dropping below idle or failing to accelerate when you pull away?

I've noticed my 987.2 is occasionally reluctant to accelerate. It's so intermittent but with an initial bit of reading my fault sounded as though it could be 1 of the 2 position pickups in the accelerator pedal assembly or a switch in the brake pedal that interacts with PSM.

When I have the problem, foot complelty off the accelerator then back on again sorts it out.

As I change down the revs drop off quicker than normal, & then as you approach standstill it begins to cut out, & 5 times out of 10 it cuts out completely. Really dodgy in a city.
Acceleration from low revs is hesitant, but then clears to normal at higher revs. Engine performance is unaffected?

Sounds a strange one - hopefully the OPC can shed some light on it. Without any horrible noises hopefully its nothing too serious. A sensor or ignition related perhaps 🤞

The only thing I can think of is a few months ago (before OPC service) I had the PSE actuators changed & one of the vacuum pipes. It needed a cooling water fault resetting, done by a local garage not OPC. All appeared OK after.
The PSE actuators are working OK but I suspect one out of two of the actual exhaust valves is stuck in the noisy position which I can live with.. Can see how this would affect anything??

Ive got a 991 C2S which has the same symptoms, maybe a little worse and had a 'PSM Loss, possible to drive on carefully' dash warning light. On my car it was so bad it wouldn't tick over at all and I barely made it home.

Its under warranty so I called Porsche recovery who sent a guy who advised it was missing on 3 cylinders and would need recovering back to Porsche. Their service tech called and advised it was a faulty valve lift solenoid would need replacing but it was on back order. Its a £100 part apparently, but quite a job to replace.

Anyway, I've been in a loan car for 3 weeks, and the part isn't back in stock until 22nd November.

Hope that helps

Sounds like we're in the same boat, the more I think of it my odd exhaust note, I was thinking is a PSE issue could well be the car running on 3 cylinders??
Interesting to read the part is inexpensive, I'd be interested what your labour bill ends up being. I'm not under warranty unfortunately.
I'm taking it into OPC tomorrow, they want £150 just to diagnose!!
I'll keep posting the findings, would be interesting if anyone else has experience of this??

Forgot to say my PSM failure message also came on. 'PSM Failure, Consult Garage, Adapted Driving Permitted'

Taken my car into OPC today and it appears they have 2 more cars in with same fault linked to solenoid.
Not sure if my fault is the same but seams likely, will find out once they check it over.
I,m interested if it’s an indication of a factory fault?

Mine had the same issue on the left bank. Was during cold weather like just now too actually.

Exactly the same symptoms my car had..misfiring and cutting out at low revs but ran fine when at higher revs. Mines was a pdk so put it in manual and keeping in low gears with high revs managed to drive to OPC. New camshaft solenoid cured it. Tech knew problem right away as it was a common (ish) fault. Sorry know idea cost as was on warranty. Good luck with repair.
