Due to pull the trigger on a 2012 BMW 116i - 105k on the clock.
Just wanted to ask if there are any engine issues / problems I should be Aware of on the vehicle?
MOT’s check out with no issues, and just been serviced. Will only be doing 15miles per day in the vehicle to and from work - until used car prices fall to then I’ll buy my ‘proper’ car.

umm, yeah they use the BMW/PSA Prince N13 engine, which isn't the greatest in terms of reliability.
They have a couple of well known issues, such as timing chain tensioner failure that leads to a destroyed engine and high pressure fuel pump failure.
Post 2015 116i's have the more reliable B38 engine, but I suspect they'll be out of budget.
