XK X150 crazy reverse dip mirror!

If I switch on reverse dip mirror setting, when selecting reverse or going back into park or drive, the passenger mirror doesn’t dip, it spends 15 seconds or so rotating randomly.

I’ve tried setting it correctly in park, storing settings in seat memory, then the same for reverse, but it just repeats its random swirling.

Any ideas?!

Put the car into reverse then set the mirror manually before selecting drive . Normally when you reselect reverse the mirrors will return to the preset position .

Yeah I've tried that - as soon as I shift out of reverse it does 10 seconds of random moving around then points to the sky!

We have the same issue on our X150 - it's fine if you turn off the parking mirror feature.

I assume it's wear to the motor, I half-considered disassembling both mirrors and swapping the motor assembly left to right if they were the same, but it's a big risk of breaking something.

It’s set to the seat memory setting. So put it in reverse, set it where you want it, and then store the seat memory.
