He probably thinks that the "one time only tax" will be repeated.

it is win win for musk if they show the figures he pays it and is seen as a hero and if they do not it shows they were bullstting about the extra tax...

He's basically called out the generic and emotional 'tax the rich' narrative has he not?

I actually like how hes called them out. Never even knew who he was a few years ago and now he's the richest ever? Mental rise.

How is Musk bullstting a UN doctor on Twitter showing that a proposed US tax is nonsense?

Probably wants to know how much of that money will end up on people plates and not be lost to bureaucracy and corruption

If it was anymore than social media attention seeking he could set up his own foundation and make sure the money goes to the right places without the pantomime.

What the dude actually said was help solve world hunger. It's just Musk being a prick on Twitter again.

hes offered to sell some shares and hand over 6 billion dollars

onus is on the tax the rich lot to show the math that they can cure world hunger with the money.

its a win win for musk, he's made the offer on the basis of their numbers now they need to put up or shut up.
if they cant no loss to him, and if they do he leaves a legacy like no other for less than 2% of his net worth

He's never going to do anything, he'll spend a couple of days soaking in the adoration of his fanclub for owning the libs then move on to something else.

Like I said if he really gave a st he could be doing something already, there's no applause in that though.

Musk at shameless self promotion again. What surprises me is how much people continue to fall for it.

Just about equivalent to his last 2 weeks earnings.

Probably less than 1% of his stake in Tesla, an easy win for him.

Another non story. It's help to solve world hunger, not solve it for £6 billion. Besides why has he got to be solve world hunger or I don't want to help anyone?

Even if it did work by next year there will be even more people on the planet and more people starving.

hunger isn't the issue, it's funds getting to the people that need it.

I think that's what he's trying to say, and i don't think it's a bad thing giving that statement some airtime.

But these vague targets are part of the problem. Buying a single sandwich for $6bn and giving it to a starving person would help solve world hunger, but won't fix the problem nor represent good use of funds.

I think that's the point Musk is making; don't make claims that $Xbn will help solve world hunger without showing precisely how the money would be spent and what the impact would be.
