Aston 08 vantage convertible, handbrake stuck & battery flat

hi forum , got 2008 vantage convertible that been sitting in container at sea for 2 months, handbrake will not release, any pointers ? drawings or easy solution ?

batteri empty, dont know the type, maybe someone know the type ? hope maybe its possibble charge it up. car has only 14 000 km, close to 9000 miles.

When you say "handbrake won't release" do you mean you can't get the lever to operate or that you've released the lever but the pads are stuck on the discs?

You do know about the quirky Aston handbrake system, I assume?

It is very common for the handbrake pads to stick to the discs in a damp environment or parking up after washing. Mine often take a few rpm in drive to unstick them. Those handbrake calipers can seize up too. Try releasing the handbrake, start the car and give it a few revs to pull it free. If that battery has been flat for a while, it will almost certainly need replacing.

If the handbrake light goes off, you've worked out how to operate an Aston Martin handbrake.

If the wheels still won't turn, you have seized pads, a bit of driving may fix them, or you may need to remove the handbrake calipers and free everything before refitting
