Changing jobs but it’s less salary
Discussion
I’m at the time now where I don’t want any mither
One kids Left home.
My house is paid
And I’m working more and more
And I can’t see it getting a lot worse
With staff long term absences
I’m doubling my work
I may have the opportunity of something that’s 9k a year less but no stress or aggro.
I could afford to live in the wages. But won’t have the spare cash thst I did
But with this prospective job
Shut the door and walk away As. Opposed to emailing at all hours.
I’ve kind of no passion for it anymore
But that’s quite a drop in salary
What would you do.

Go for it! I'm in same position, moving to a much less paid job, but, one where when I finish for the day I'm finished, rather than emailing at all hours and during holidays etc.One kids Left home.

Time is more important than money.
You've paid your house, one of your kid's already left home, put yourself in a position to spen more time w the kids that are still living w you. You'll never get this time back. Obvs there's lots I don't know about your situation, but worth bearing in mind. Also the stress thing.
Good luck :-)
ETA context I'm not a homeowner, and I drive a 4 figure car, so I'm not just giving you a rich person viewpoint

I just don’t know what to do.
When the jobs ok. It’s ok
More and more people I speak to it depresses me
How little Thry know about the job.
But I suspect I’m going to be in a position now that I’ve been in twice before.
Namely other on long term sick and me barely coping or sleeping.
And it was horrific before and I expect the same again

This, just do it if you can. I now do 3 days a week, pretty flexible any days i want. Gone from bullcarp gov politics and mither in city centre offices and zoom calls to a family firm driving about the countryside and building sites and having a good crack.
I would still retire tomorrow though if i could.

To the OP though you just need to decide what will make you happier. Will the lack of responsibility be worth the salary cut, or will a lack of funds make you unhappy, but in a different way?
I dropped about £15k during my last move and have not regretted it once.
