Folding mirror stuck.

My son coded the mirrors on his X3 to fold/unfold when locking/unlocking. His passenger side mirror will not unfold.

Can it be manually unfolded without causing damage?

Don't push it if it's not wanting to go; it may have slipped teeth on the gearing. But they are manually adjustable, they have to be
