Looking for an OLED - worth waiting for Black Friday?
Discussion
My trusty Philips 50in 1080p tv finally went pop tonight after putting in a good few years service.
I have been looking at which tv's to buy and so far the best for my requirements seems to be the LG OLED55B16LA.
My question is is it worth hanging on a few weeks for the Black Friday deals? I have no idea if popular current year stock is discounted or if it just a case of clearing old inventory? Any useful input welcome.

Thanks for the response Evanivitch,
I'm all for budget creep but think I'd probably opt for a 65" if I upped the budget to £1500+.
The room the TV will be in is pretty dark, are there many benefits over the B or C except for brightness? I have just found the C version for the same price as B (£1100) so have asked if Richer Sounds will match.
Cheers

Best places to buy from are John Lewis, Costco and Richer Sounds for their 5 year warranties. John Lewis will price match a recognised retailer with physical stores for 28 days. Richer Sounds will match and beat a price at point of buying and will extend warranty to six years if you sign up to their VIP club (free to join).

Sevenoaks have some Sony OLEDs on for £1300 at the moment.
I'm very cynical about Black Friday "deals"....just search around, keep an eye on prices generally on the set you really want and buy when the price is right for you. I suspect you'll be lucky to find a "too good to be true" price because of Black Friday.

I would try to use John Lewis if possible.
I bought my LG 55 OLED 2 years ago in October 2019 for £1299 and they were offering £100 in JL vouchers.
At the time Richer Sounds were offering a £125 saving against JL.
JL price matched and I could still claim the £100 in vouchers.
After Black Friday the price of the TV dropped by another £75 so I called JL and they gave me another £75 back! You have 30 days to price match with JL and can keep going back! 😀
Personally my next TV will Sony as I prefer how they operate.

I believe Costco have a no questions return policy for a certain time after purchase.
Richer Sounds have a good reputation for customer service.
John Lewis will price match and can provide extra cover for burn in etc for £140, though some argue this should be covered under the standard warranty.
