Independent dealers and ‘in-house’ warranties

On the hunt for a Boxster and have noticed a few of the independent dealers only offer a return to dealer warranty and not an insurance backed one in the sticker price.

I’m guessing that if you buy from said dealer and you live a 2 1/2 drive away, it becomes a bit of a PITA if you have any problems.

Any experience of this?

Some specialists with in-house warranties will offer the ability to take your car to an approved specialist closer to home in the event of an issue arising which is a sensible solution. I suggest you head for the 911uk forum as they have an open forum discussion on who is good/bad from a customer care point of view & if you ask about a specific company, you’ll get a frank response.
