Raising the Christopher Ward bar

I was a Christopher Ward non-believer but now feel like I’ve seen the light. While I doubt CW will be the messiah for British watchmaking – and some will always question the logo – I have faith that CW’s rapidly moving towards heavenly quality. It might never join the holy trinity, but have you seen this divine design?

I'm really liking the C63 Sealander Elite in full titanium at the moment and now I've just seen this:

Wow. But then I saw the case-back and that just strikes me as a bit cheesy. Maybe being a bit harsh tbf.

I really do like these C63s though. The only thing stopping me is the lack of rotating (inner) bezel. Having the triangle at 12 makes it look like it should have a function imo.

Interesting. it's like a neon sign. I note they have dropped the Christopher Ward name from the dial and just leave the checker logo, which I hope is a taste of things to come! I was bought a C60 Elite 1000 Titanium GMT diver for my birthday last year, and love it. Long may they continue.

Oh I like it on the bracelet. Mainly because I have a hankering for a titanium watch probably. Agree it doesn’t have quite the same impact without the blue & orange though.

Whether or not you like the caseback, the new C63 Colchester shows how far CW has come. With a chronometer movement, it has a carbon case (a rarity) and a retractable crown like the Omega AT Ultra-Light. I imagine the Colchester’s unusual tech will rightly persuade many people.

I can't get past 'Sealander' being English for 'Aqua Terra'. That's the bit that I find cheesy.

Credit to them though, I like CW and would buy one over a Bremont any day.

I owned a couple of CW's in their early days that were later sold on. I do regret selling one of them, a now discont. model.
Its no mean feat entering the watch market and establishing yourself, they have come a long way. I also like the C63...too many variants to choose from!

Also very tempted by the new Tide model.

Yes. CW has gone from being a new brand to being well-established to remarkably innovative. While every watch company has its critics (in CW’s case, some people dislike the logo), Christopher Ward appears to be going from strength to strength. It’s innovative. And CW does several things incredibly well (exceptionally well-finished cases, supremely comfortable bracelets, etc.).

Had my C65 Trident for a couple of years now and it's still a firm favourite for look and feel. It's also very accurate.

Go for it PushedDover, you won't be dissapointed.
