Headlight cover query

Hi, just noticed this on my car... the black piece was crooked and loose. Seems to tuck back in OK but not quite fitting properly tightly. Is this just a glue-back job or is it a functioning thing eg headlamp washer cover? (ps i know, the clear piece needs a refurb!)

On some cars it’s functional (cars with washers) on some it’s just a cover for nothing.

They can fall off though, as I found out.

As above, when my car was in VE a few weeks ago this is one of the things they bonded back in place. My car doesn't have headlamp wash so it's just a cover plate.

Thanks both, will test for washers but don't think I have them so will get the 'no more nails' out. Or something else! Would you expect movement in the whole unit, as mine did when popping it back into place? Slightly worrying...

I would have thought some movement would be acceptable on the whole light unit (if this is what you mean) however, I guess it depends how much force you applied .... if only light force then I may be concerned. Does the other light unit move in the same way with similar force being applied?

I cant say I've noticed much movement in mine when washing bugs off them etc.
